Evolution From a Tree

Doesn’t make sense. The characters are mediocre and shallow, and only get to shine once or twice but that’s just what happens when the roster of characters is long as hell. The plot is okay-ish, but everything is super convenient. Plot armour magically saves anyone about to die, which is just cheap. The character designs are… Okay. The beasts are cool but don’t have any truly memorable features. The team of artists also clearly cannot draw humans, so there’s that. People say this is similar to That Time I Got Reincarnated As A Slime but really, this is just so much worse. The depiction of human diplomacy here is…. Ehhh…. That’s not how it works but then again, convenience. Pacing is also off, they don’t bother to show how the characters have changed after a 3 year time jump. The world building is really confusing too, it’s like they tried to build an actual map of locations at the start but just lost the plot and gave up. Don’t even get me started on how awkward all the dialogue is, that is an entire other can of worms.
In other words: It’s mid as hell. You’re better off sinking time into Slime Isekai with half the amount of chapters but twice as good.
